Real cases, structured supervision, couples-only.
Most clinical psych practica are generalist by default — you see whoever walks in, you learn whatever modality your supervisor happens to know. Our practicum is the opposite: the cases are couples, the supervision is in couples-specific modalities (Gottman, EFT, IBCT, Discernment, PACT), and the clinical literature you'll engage with is the literature that actually moves outcomes for couples.
- Year-long placement; ~16–20 hours/week typical
- Two hours of weekly individual supervision (licensed psychologist)
- Two hours of weekly group supervision / case consult
- Quarterly didactic series on core couples models
- Co-therapy opportunities on complex cases
- Direct experience across at least two modalities
What we look for
Strong fit with adult-couples work, openness to feedback, and curiosity about why methods that look similar produce different outcomes. APA-accredited PsyD/PhD programs preferred. Bilingual applicants (especially Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Hindi, Italian, Arabic, Armenian) are particularly encouraged to apply.
