Five well-validated couples therapies, used together.

No single modality is right for every couple. Across the team, we've trained in five — and we choose between them based on what you're bringing in, not on what's fashionable. Here's an overview.

Most couples therapy that doesn't work failed because the therapist was using one tool for every problem. The five modalities below were each developed for a specific question. Gottman is built around assessment and structured trust repair. EFT lives at the level of attachment and emotional cycle. IBCT pairs change strategies with deep acceptance for differences that won't fully change. Discernment is short and is for couples not yet sure if they want to do the work. PACT works with what's happening at the level your nervous systems are running.

In practice, the work usually pulls from more than one. A couple coming in for affair recovery may anchor on Gottman Trust Revival but borrow EFT moves when the underlying attachment injury is what's keeping the wound open. The therapist names what they're using and why — the work is transparent, not a black box.
